School is in!!!

So school started for me this week and I'm not sure how to feel. On one hand I'm ecstatic that I'm making progress in my educational pursuit but on the other I'm scared to push myself. I have a mentee and each time she comes to me and tell me her progress in school or states she's ready for the next semester… my response is to say " well what about np school, what about phd." I come from a linage of educationally hungry men and that gene is instilled in me. My circle of friends typically joke and call me a professional student. I'll wear that cron proudly as I ascend to the highest of highs!

Hitch Hiking my Way back to Sanity

For those who consistently follows my blog, you might notice a pattern. Alot of my begining posts surrounds issues with emotions. When I opened started this blog, I originally wanted to make it all about make up and thrift store shopping. Slowly but surely my transition turned into wanting to express myself.

Now I came into realization that alot of my defense mechanisms, and coping mechanisms, were okay but not addressing the subject. Kind of like 'ignoring the pink elephant in the room' syndrome.

The begining of something beautiful.

So here I am ready to document my next journey..... Sisterlocks. I actually cut off my locs on October 4th. After the cut I decided to wear a pixie cut for a month, braids for a few weeks.. and now, a bald head. Currently Im undecided how long I will grow my hair before I start the locks. Part of me want to start it on longer hair and part of me wants the short look... Either way, im sure you'll be on of the first to know which decision I make .

The Eyebrow Tutorial

So I finally took the time before work to put this together. This is the way I learned from a MAC artist. I always saw the videos online but that wasnt enough to help me along. Seeing was definitely better do that I could ask questions and get a feel for what they were saying. Tools needed: a eyebrow pencil matching your eyebrow color, concealer, and angle brush and and a blending brush. I used my MAC 217 to blend and my angle brush from the Bamboo collection sold at Walgreens. Happy brow shaping!

Finally learned how to shape my eye brows appropriately. I've been struggling with getting them threaded and not having a good outcome. So when I visited the MAC store, I happen to remember how to ask them how is it done. Finally I was taught because when I do it, it's normally too dark and doesn't look as defined as the MUA does. Here's the comparison: one with the "dark look" one with no eyebrows and one with the new technique. I used spiked with nc45 concealer. My eyeshadow is mofit, sketched, and some carbon. Eyes lined with photogauve. For mascara I used clear maybelline ( I hate black mascara because it always get clumpy and since my eyelashes are so long they tend to get tangled. For lips I have on 2 inglot colors, and MAC real posh. Hope this helps. Will be up loading a tutorial soon.

Circles, circles, dots dots… Now I have my cootie shots!

I had the opportunity to attend a good friend of mines birthday. I bought a pair of thrifted pants 6 months back and never wore them. This summer I'm into my coral lips and any article of clothing that exudes brightness, and improves my energy.

My makeup for the night was driven by a nude eye and bright lip. Ended up
Wearing runway red by MAC for the night. On my lids I have Naked, Sketch, and Carbon. My cheeks I have on peach twist, an Orange matte blush and a little bit of blunt. All by MAC.

My hair is dying for a retwist and color job but I'm waiting until June to do both.

Today's ❌ a good day

Today seems like a perfect day to put my phone in airplane mode, jam out to some alternative music, and get my chores done. Why, You may ask? For starters it's Monday! After a week and weekend full of festivities for my beloved graduating friends, my body is tired!!! I'm not looking forward to answering emails and the work that is packed on my desk! Those things can wait. I promise to be back with pictures and goodie updates in regards to my hair. I just need to purchase a computer and better quality camera. My digi has been put to shame!
